  • Job Title: Construction Framing Foreman

    Job Summary

    The Construction Framing Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing framing operations on construction sites. This role involves coordinating the work of framing crews, ensuring that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Foreman acts as the primary point of contact between the construction team and upper management, ensuring that safety regulations, project specifications, and client expectations are met.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Leadership & Supervision:

      • Supervise and manage a team of framers, carpenters, and laborers.

      • Assign tasks and monitor team performance to ensure efficiency and productivity.

      • Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to team members.

    2. Project Management:

      • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.

      • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and work schedules.

      • Ensure that all framing work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.

    3. Quality Control:

      • Conduct regular inspections of framing work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.

      • Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in the framing process.

      • Ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of craftsmanship.

    4. Safety Management:

      • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and best practices on the job site.

      • Conduct safety meetings and ensure all team members are trained on safety procedures.

      • Report and document any accidents, incidents, or safety concerns.

    5. Communication & Coordination:

      • Act as the primary liaison between the construction team, subcontractors, and project managers.

      • Communicate project progress, issues, and changes to all relevant parties.

      • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment.

    6. Resource Management:

      • Manage the inventory of materials and tools needed for framing tasks.

      • Ensure that all resources are used efficiently and that any shortages or surpluses are addressed promptly.

      • Maintain and manage tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.

    7. Documentation & Reporting:

      • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, time sheets, and progress reports.

      • Prepare and submit regular reports to the Project Manager or Site Superintendent.

      • Document any changes to project plans or schedules and communicate them to the necessary parties.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Relevant vocational training or certification in carpentry or construction management is preferred.

    Experience:

    • Proven experience as a carpenter or framer, with a minimum of [X] years in a supervisory or leadership role.

The Subforeman acts as an intermediary between the Foreman and the framing crew, helping to coordinate daily activities and resolve on-site issues.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Support & Supervision:

      • Assist the Foreman in supervising and directing the framing crew.

      • Help allocate tasks to crew members based on skills, experience, and project needs.

      • Step in for the Foreman as needed in their absence, ensuring continuity of leadership.

    2. Project Assistance:

      • Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.

      • Help develop and follow daily work schedules and project plans.

      • Support the Foreman in tracking project progress and adjusting schedules as necessary.

    3. Quality Assurance:

    Job Summary

    The Rough Framer is responsible for the foundational construction work on residential and commercial building projects. This role involves constructing and assembling the structural framework of buildings, including walls, floors, and roofs. The Rough Framer works closely with other construction professionals to ensure that all framing tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Structural Framework Construction:

      • Read and Interpret Plans: Work with the Foreman or Subforeman to review blueprints and ensure you understand the project’s structural requirements and specifications.

      • Build Framework: Construct the wooden or metal framework of structures, including the framing for walls, floors, and roofs.

      • Install Components: Assemble and install structural components, such as studs, joists, rafters, and beams.

    2. Measurement & Layout:

      • Accurate Measurements: Take precise measurements and mark layout lines for framing components.

      • Layout Work: Use measuring tools, levels, and squares to ensure that all structural elements are correctly aligned and spaced.

    3. Material Handling:

      • Manage Materials: Transport, handle, and organize framing materials and tools on the job site.

      • Material Preparation: Cut, shape, and assemble materials as required for the framing process.

    4. Safety & Compliance:

      • Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
